The Pre KG and KG department is for our youngest learners, where we have a play-based approach as the rock-solid foundation for success; the Early Years underpins all that we do. Children learn their phonics here in KG as well as other vitally important literacy strategies. Ages are 2.6 yrs until 5.6 years.
The Primary Years follow on from KG starting in Grade 1 (5.6. years) and going through to Grade 5 where children are turning 10 years across the academic year. Although we begin the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in the KG, the PYP (Primary Years Programme) really takes off and flourishes during this time culminating in the amazing PYP Project.
Middle School grades are 6 - 9 which is rather like the Key Stage Three approach of British Education. Having completed the PYP in Primary, students build on these experiences with the world renowned MYP (Middle Years Programme) of the IB which actually goes through to the end of Grade 10 in High School. The Middle School years are challenging, engaging and enjoyable as our children develop and mature physically, emotionally, spiritually, as well as academically.
The first two years of High school (Grades 10 and 11) are the final two years of the MYP that culminate in the fantastic Personal Project. Students then become 'Juniors' in Grade 11 and finally 'Seniors' in Grade 12 where they continue to study a range of subjects, but with an emphasis on science and maths. Having peaked academically and achieved a strong GPA (assessed over the 4 years of High School) students are ready for their next level of education in University life!
